What is a Mocktail

It All Begins Here

If you've ever heard the word "mocktail" and assumed it was simply a cocktail without alcohol, you're only scratching the surface.

A mocktail is a thoughtfully crafted, alcohol-free beverage made with fresh ingredients, herbs, spices, juices, syrups, teas, and sparkling waters. The best mocktails offer the same complexity, presentation, and experience as a traditional cocktail—without the alcohol.

As more people embrace sober curiosity, wellness, and intentional living, mocktails have become a staple at restaurants, weddings, corporate events, and social gatherings.

At Mocktails & Monologues, mocktails represent something even bigger.

They symbolize choice.

Our events prove you don't need alcohol to enjoy live music, poetry, storytelling, meaningful conversations, or a memorable night with friends. Whether someone is sober, sober-curious, taking a break from drinking, the designated driver, or simply prefers not to drink, everyone deserves spaces where they feel included.

The mocktails may bring people through the door, but it's the creativity, community, and authentic connections that keep them coming back.

If you're looking for an alcohol-free event in Atlanta where culture, conversation, and creativity come together, Mocktails & Monologues was created for you.

Why I Started Mocktails & Mon

It All Begins Here

When I first imagined Mocktails & Monologues, I wasn't trying to create another event. I was trying to create the kind of space I wished already existed.

As a photographer and filmmaker, I've spent years documenting people, stories, and communities. Some of the most meaningful moments I've witnessed haven't happened on a stage or in front of a camera—they've happened in conversations. People opening up. Artists finding their voice. Strangers becoming collaborators. Those moments inspired me to build something bigger than a performance night.

At the same time, I realized that so many social events revolve around alcohol. If you don't drink—or simply don't want to—your options can feel limited. I wanted to prove that people don't need alcohol to have a memorable night. We need authentic connection, creativity, and a space where we can be ourselves.

That's how Mocktails & Monologues was born.

Mocktails & Monologues is a Black-owned, alcohol-free creative experience that brings together poets, storytellers, musicians, actors, dancers, filmmakers, and artists from every discipline. It's a place where people can perform, listen, network, and leave feeling inspired instead of drained.

Our events are intentionally welcoming. Whether you're stepping on stage for the first time or attending your first spoken word event, you belong here. We've watched complete strangers become friends, collaborators launch projects together, and audience members discover artists they'll never forget.

The mocktails are part of the experience, but they're not the reason people return. They come back because of the atmosphere. They come back because they feel seen. They come back because genuine community is becoming harder to find, and when you experience it, you want more of it.

Mocktails & Monologues isn't just about poetry or performances. It's about creating a culture where creativity is celebrated, vulnerability is respected, and connection comes before consumption.

While our roots are in Atlanta, the vision has always been bigger than one city. We believe every community deserves access to meaningful, alcohol-free experiences where people can gather, create, and build lasting relationships. That's why our goal is to bring Mocktails & Monologues anywhere people are looking for a different way to connect.

If you've been searching for an alcohol-free event, a welcoming creative community, or simply a place where you can experience authentic art and conversation, we'd love to welcome you.

This isn't a turn-up moment.

It's a tune-in movement.
